Came across this the other day via Facebook of all places! A Jay Electronica mixtape consisting of a selection of some of his tracks!
Recently signed to Jay-z’s Rocnation, I first heard Exhibit C earlier this year and was instantly hooked. After hearing that I haven’t really heard alot of his other material so this is a nice introduction! Refreshing to hearing some decent Hip Hop!
About a year ago I had a rant about RnB being washed it’s that time again. What brought this post on is that I am currently four tracks into Jazmine Sullivan’s album “Love Me Back” and I’m getting frustrated because I know in the U.K this album will not see hardly any major success because we are currently a wash with euro dance RnB.
Now I can understand that it’s currently popular and sells but why can’t some quality RnB get the air time it deserves? If you listen to the mainstream radio stations, I’m now including 1xtra in this – they seem to following the trend of everyone else and slowly dropping RnB for what is popular and putting everything in the RnB basket.

This is going to be absolutely massive… like massive, massive! I like it but I do prefer Price Tag (the chorus & hook are like musical crack) but this has more mass appeal I think!

If you follow this blog you will know I’m a big fan of Daniel even before he appeared on X-Factor 2007 so when I saw a mixtape was in the pipeline I obviously got excited anyway it dropped earlier this evening! Consisting mainly of cover’s from his Youtube project which I have posted about before – with a couple of exclusives thrown in for good measure!

This got its first spin on 1xtra last night on Jam’s Jury… This is massive it really does sound like it’s been pulled from the 90’s but it still sounds fresh for it’s 2011 release date! Shy FX comes through on production! I really rate Yasmin as a DJ, she then came through with her feature on Devlin’s Runaway. Then she drops this – the future defiantly looks bright (I can’t wait to hear what else she comes with)!
