Robert Carvalho can be congratulated for being the first person to send me a promo track as a result of my blog/twitter account therefore it only fair I give you some more details. The track in question is called “Loving You” its not something I automatically liked but it by no means offends me and he took the time to share the track I thought I’d share it!
It’s been a while 2010 has been crazy too much going on but I’m back on the blog! Anyway if you’ve never heard of Slakah before then watch the following and get to know! New EP – Something forever coming October on BBE
Earlier today I caught a link for a Drake documentary on Soul Culture. It follows Drake in the lead up to the release of Thank Me Later which has grown on me alot from it’s first spin. It also features a fairly in-depth interview. This is the second or third time I have heard Drake speak and he really interests me in with what he says he seems really honest. You can see the whole thing over at Soul Culture it was a really inspiring watch.
Underrated and probably a handful of people would actually know of this guy in the U.K. You can hear some of his newer stuff over on his myspace I really like his sound….http://www.myspace.com/tlcross.
“With influences that range from The Beatles to rap legend Nas to folk music icon Bob Dylan, TL Cross’s music not only has a global appeal, his sound is so diverse it has a genre all its own–World Soul.”
First came Shutterbug now this, could it be true that some funk is starting to make a come back its been missing since about 1970 so its not before time I really like the vintage vibe of this featuring Q-Tip & MNDR. This is nice….
Slept on big time someone tell me the last time they heard this played anywhere in the last 2/3 years. Shola Ama on R&B is amazing quite simply she’s one the best the U.K has to offer! D’Influence – This Is Promise You classic material! Enjoy!
Watch the above video and listen to the lyrics and then tell me Sway isn’t one of if not the best in the U.K. Stupidly clever word play also check out Say it Twice if you haven’t heard that along a similar theme…
New music from Keri Hilson and it sounding very big indeed its called “I Like”, caught it a couple of times on music tv and now its time to give it some blog time it has great potential – addictive chorus that you will singing for days! What you thinking?
Soul Culture posted the video for this earlier. I’m sharing this because I think its my favourite track of the year thus far I posted about this a few months when I first heard it – nice to see it get the video treatment here it is….
I saw Jay-z last night that is a whole other post in itself. Anyways Empire State of Mind drops and as usual Alicia’s substitute comes on to sing the chorus I’d seen her on a few things towards the end of last year and couldn’t find any information on her. Anyway 6 months later a new google search reveals her to be Bridget Kelly – I rate this girl highly amazing voice imo its up there if not better than Alicia’s?
Here’s a cover of Use somebody….enjoy!
Introducing videos after the jump (from Rap-Up.tv) ….
